What to Expect
This class is for adults and families interested in learning Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Self-Defense and is specifically designed for people without martial arts experience that want to get in better shape and increase their self confidence while learning proven self defense skills.
The classes will be held on Tuesday and Friday evenings at 6:00 pm with an optional class on Saturday morning. If you are interested in learning Brazilian Jiu Jitsu but have held back because you felt uncomfortable working out with high school and college age athletes then this is the class for you.

What to Bring
Wear a gi if you have one or just show up in comfortable clothing such as sweat pants or shorts and a T-shirt.
You will want and need a gi if you start coming regularly. You can get good quality jiu jitsu gis through the instructor and you can also order Judo and Jiu Jitsu gis online if you wish. The instructor can recommend several reputable outlets.
Mike is the Oregon Pound Program Director and head instructor for the BJJ class. Mike began training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in 1998 and is a Black Belt under Master Pedro Sauer. He also trained Tae Kwon Do under Glen Sweeney for 13 years and holds the TKD rank of 3rd Degree Black Belt.
Mozafar is a Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and also holds Black Belt ranks in Shotokan Karate and Tae Kwon Do. Mozafar also has a strong boxing background.
Jim Hardison: Jim is a Brown Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and also holds the rank of 2nd dan Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do.
